I am the first one to give them props. Good freaking job guys. Hopefully alot of people get alot of money back from this town. When the chain of command is fucked from the top down, there is no way the police on the street can be good cops

I can't imagine it would be difficult to write enough tickets in Florida.

I mean c'mon. Tourists, geriatrics and buttplugs. Those are your top 3 demographics.

But in all seriousness, this is cool.

As I understand it, police in TX don't have quotas. They have targets . If it walks like a duck, and quacks like a duck......

Anonymous incident/complaint reporting is dearly needed in law enforcement.

wow

that takes some serious balls from the officers who stepped up, it could have gone really bad for them.

This is the thing that's been bugging me a lot lately. NOT ALL COPS ARE BAD.

Yes, some are terrible.

Some are genuinely good people.

I like to think my sheriff's deputy sister is in the 2nd category.

And everyone who says cops shouldn't have "military level equipment" should spend a day walking into houses/buildings/up to cars not knowing what criminals have, because if they're already a criminal they don't care that full auto weapons are illegal (yes that last part is regional)

I always said that I'll believe in good cops when they start doing something about the bad ones. It's refreshing to find out that they're still out there.

Cops should never have quotas. This isn't a sales job. There should be a different metric on determining if an officer is doing his job correctly or at all.

Right. Most states are like this. As long as they don't have an explicit punishment for not writing enough tickets, and that they consider going 'over' the target a bad thing, then it's not considered a 'quota' just a 'suggested target'. But that doesn't mean that your manager will keep from you the pay raise or nicer cop car next month if you don't meet them.

Everyone in Florida knows Waldo. Seriously, it's like a bad joke. If you're going from the West Coast of Florida north and need to get to 95 to go up the East Coast, the fastest way is through Waldo, and local LE knows this. Even if you're going under the speed limit, there's a good chance that you're going to get pulled over. The only destination anywhere near Waldo is Gainesville, so they know that if you don't live there, you aren't going to come back to fight it.
